Prof. Dalit Ben-Yosef is the Scientific Director of the Fertility and IVF institute in Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center. She is responsible for the development and implementation of all the state of the ART technologies within the IVF lab. She is involved in different academic activities and is a member of Israeli Ministry of Health advisory committee on IVF. In addition, she is Full Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology, Sackler Medical School, and Sagol School of Neuroscience in Tel-Aviv University. Her research lab focuses on deciphering the early stages of embryo development in order to understand how these processes are controlled in normal development and what happens as they stray from it, which leads to severe diseases. Her research model includes human embryonic stem cells (hESC) that her lab derives directly from diseased embryos, and differentiate them into different cell types and organoids, in order to study the mechanisms underlying the development of genetic diseases. She also studies early human development with deep learning, data visualization and advanced RNA sequencing technologies.
